Why is Revit so difficult? ›

Revit is menu-driven 3D drawing software that prefers you to know the dimensions before inserting the item. This requires you think in reverse to normal. It pushes you out of your comfort zone because it requires you to think differently.

To successfully complete the ACP, you typically need approximately 1200 hours of real-world Revit software experience in an architectural environment. You also need a general understanding of the following topics: Modeling. Documentation.

If you want to master Revit, you can expect the full process to take up to a year. If you learn the program in phases, you'll find it's not difficult at all. Start with the layout of the software and all of the tools first, which can take about three months.

This Revit course will introduce you to the software and BIM (Building Information Modelling) and after three days you'll be confident in using the software for all aspects of building documentation and design.

Known to have a steeper learning curve than Revit. AutoCAD'S workflow is a bit more disjointed due to its setup which requires you to draw each part of your design separately.

Causes: Working in a Revit model involves interacting with many systems, and if any one (or more) of those systems have slow performance, the entire experience in Revit can be slowed down.

Why does Revit take forever to open? ›

A slow startup of Revit can have various causes, such as:

Recent Files List - files are referenced in the Revit. ini Recent Files list that may have moved to a different location. Loading certain add-ins for Revit takes longer than expected. Revit needs an update.

When should you start using Revit or ArchiCAD? As ArchiCAD has an intuitive interface and workflow, it may be easier to learn than Autodesk Revit. It won't be needed in the first year, but try starting early, say, from the second or third year.

The weaknesses of Autodesk Revit are the need for high specification hardware in the device, the high license prices, when using it a new family of materials must be created according to the design and size required, the design work must be done with care, so there is no loss of money or loss due to the materials used.
