Position Description
The Department of History at Baylor University seekstwo full-time Regular Lecturersto teach introductory survey courses for majors and non-majors as well as upper-level undergraduate courses in an area of specialization.
The positions will begin in August 2025.
Regular Lecturer appointments are renewable full-time,benefits-eligible, teaching-focused positions with six-year promotion paths to Senior Lecturer for successful candidates and twelve-year promotion paths to Teaching Professor for highly successful candidates. Qualifications
Successful candidates will:
- possess an earned doctorate in History or a related field by August 2025;
- be able to demonstrate they are dynamic teachers;
- be able to demonstrate that they have the potential to mentor undergraduate students effectively.
Applicants with specializations in one or more of the following areas of need are preferred: Africa, Asia, the Middle East, African-American history, Asian-American history, history of Indigenous Peoples of North America, pre-modern Global history.
